The Beachwood inn was like the last old school and style bar in the popular yuppie drinking district known as Wicker Park/Bucktown in Chicago. I was really saddened to hear that the bar was closed as it was one of the few Chicago bars that resembled the Itasca Inn. the problem with the Beachwood undoubtedly had to be the off location from Milwaukee avenue that only residents in the neighborhood would know about along with the dweebs this place insisted on hiring to attend bar. I remember the few times I played to check out this bar through the years there was this idiot named Page who attended bar and he was about as exciting as a Ace Hardware floor associate. I remember thinking the fe times I attended this place and enjoyed the video game and skeet board that this bartender had to go if this bar would ever see 2016. The Beachwood was unlike these other bars along Milwaukee Avenue where Damen hits Division. Most of these places are clubs that are increasingly catering to a black and brown clientele while the Beachwood was a no frills drinking bar that resembled its working class origins on the outside and inside. The Beachwood Inn likely would of stayed open if they just hired the right type of people to represent them instead of some dude that looked like he should of been working at Radio Shack. I am not sure what will happened to this location and may have to take a drive to see what has occurred but from knowig the neighborhood and remembering recent changes to bars within it I wouldn't be surprised if it is a sushi place selling Asian carp imported from the toxic Illinois River. Thanks a lot Page.
