Steve Dahl bashes Champaign-Urbana

Gus Perkowski
Steve Dahl was lamenting the fact that he no longer has opportunities to do live remotes as radio has cut back on costs and advertisers realize few listen to these programs. Steve Dahl use to do so many live remotes that were expensive for the radio station and he really misses the ones where there was a sports event going on or he got to travel outside of the city or region to do his bad broadcasts in the eighties and nineties. Dahl went on to mention about the city of ChampaignUrbana and something about he was there and reading that it is now the top party school in the nation. Steve Dahl went on to say this was likely because there is nothing else down there except the University and he cannot believe they would make the state satellite school in such a sad depressing place for the students of Illinois. This is an area with two cool looking downtown areas in addition to a great looking campus environment. Champaign -Urbana is far from a depressing place and if anything is depressing it is Chicago's suburban areas of over-sized lots and homes where people never see nor know their neighbors down the street. Steve Dahl is accustomed to this in his shitty wealthy suburb of Westrn Springs, Illinois and in places like Champaign people know each other and there is many things for locals to do. I lived in this town and basically everything is accessible and they have all the acts and shows a top University town with 50000 people can enjoy. A Dahl and his mansion living resource depleting lifestyle in Western Springs is ignorant of areas outside the urban core and the wealthy,  massive suburban private complexity villages and the lifestyle in rural areas especially major college towns is far more enjoyable than the truck heavy and traffic clogged streets of Chicago's suburban district. of course, dahl most liely knows this and if the suburbs were so great he wouldn't of gourged a lifetime of overeating and drinking to get through the difficulties and swarthiness of living in a place such as Western springs or suburban Cook County.
