James Howard Kuntsler and Arthur Berman wonder why remote oil fields in the desert in Saudi Arabia havn't been hit by terrorists

James Howard Kuntsler is a personal top ten favorite here at the center Bear blog. James is a proficient writer and perhaps the best peak oil advocate on the fucking planet. He has his wonderful podcast where for years he has talked about the growing resource crisis and the geo-political tensions that will arise from this crisis. James Kunstler had the great oil cartographer and mapper Arthur Berman on his program and they talked a bit about this delusional thinking on part of the profiteers hoarding money and resources with their mission impossible and hopes of escape from planet Earth and travels to planet X. I always say to these techno masters talking about going to mars how about fixing Mali and North Africa first to be a more hospitable place to grow settlement before traversing the skies for new sites to settle.
James has had great guests for years discussing this consistent pressure on governments in dealing with growing resource scarcity and they often mock the fact that elites put so much money and time into the dream of space travel and asteroid mining in outer-space that will cost more to attempt than return on planet Earth. People like Elon Musk are Ponzi scheme scam artists fooling the public about possibilities to profit and across the galaxies in search of the perfect asteroid to extract.
The best part of this latest interview with Berman was when Kuntsler wondered to Berman why there hadn't been a major attack from jihadists on the immense oil fields in the middle of the desert in Saudi Arabia. Now perhaps James Howard Kuntsler has never been to Saudi Arabia or seen the immense investment in the oil infrastructure that petrodollars has allowed this desert kingdom. If James Kuntsler or anyone else thinks Saudi Arabia is going to make it easy for these rural backwards rednecks of Islam and  not protect this important revenue source then what else can I say.  Saudi Arabia's oil fields are located in a a very inhospitable remote  place and not easy to travel and perhaps the technological advantages a powerful state and kingdom can achieve through massive pile revenue is something these guys hadn't thought. I am not sure if these guys really understand the power of modern surveillance and the concept or idea that a few terrorists on camels and RPGs are not going to sneak up on these complex security oil plants is ludicrous. These oil fields  the bread and butter of the modern Saudi kingdom. I am surprised men of the intelligence of James Howard Kuntsler and Arthur Berman would question how there hasn't been a terrorist attack on these oil fields allude to the fact that Saudi authorities have covered up recent attacks that shut down oil production. Really. Saudi Arabia is not Libya and any attempt by terrorists to attack any oil facility in the Islamic holy land would be met by a barrage of drones even before they got out of their parking lt.  That is just incredible stupid and deserving of mockery on the Left shark blog, Berman and Kuntsler can agree that space exploration and asteroid resource extraction is a silly idea but not agree that in 2016 terrorists are capable of striking at the most vital function and survival of the House of Saud.
