The funky Buddha Lounge is no more after years of resident of this gentrifying community complaining about the wild antics of the crowd that hung around this once famous nightclub. You see back in the day when owner Nick Stavropoulos founded the Funky Buddha Lounge nobody really lived in this area bounded by Milwaukee Avenue and Grand Avenue . The community has changed as international investors infiltrated this area who didn't have the same hipness and appreciation of this funky lounge.
The lounge itself and crowd of characters started to change as well as this clubs faces turned from White to more startling black and brown configuration and this was almost too much for the new local wealthy Asians and Europeans moving into this area who appreciate a more quit environment where you can find around the corner at the Iguana Café on Halstead. This place also hired scumbags to man security the owner not caring to for a procedure vetting process for his security staff.
Jamie Logan often goes there and tries to turn that Euro-café into more of a hippe freak fest to no avail often coming back curing the Euro-trash elites that hang out there this king their shit don't smell despite their countries high levels of unemployment. the amount of violence and drug sniffing throughout the years came to an end. good to see places lime this and the crazy nightclub lifestyle of the city slowly come to an end in this neighborhood
