I happened to watch a boys basketball game last week between Hammond and Griffith Indian being that there is little to do in the Northwest Indiana armpit of America. The game was interesting up to a bit but then a huge melee role out and players started busting a move and crunching each other up against the walls forgetting what sport they were playing. It was pathetic and disgusting to see these athletes act in this manner and this milieu is typical of what you find with youth sports and intense competition and drive name parents teach their kids.
These kids and coaches were all over the courts take pot shots at one another and trying to kick shins and their Nikes right out of their fucking foot. I would expect better from the youth in the Hammond and Griffith areas than to act like the were gladiators in a First century Roman bathhouse. Hammond Indiana is quickly deteriorating into Gary Indiana and such acts should not come to as a surprise in an area that is just falling apart. IIHSA decided to show these two scumbag teams a lesson by canceling the rest of the season for these fools to sit at home and ponder their euphoria for fist a cuffs instead of displaying g their talent ability. The armpit of America that is Northwest Indiana will have to do with two less sporting teams in the high school ranks and it will not be easy for folks in their region. The next time I decide to catching high school game in Hammond I better see basketball and not basket brawl
