The hypocrisy of Leigh Gallagher

Andy Cruz
Leigh Gallagher was on the smart people podcast not too long ago. She was on again to make her call on the end of the suburbs on this podcast. Leigh Gallagher talked about the importance of having a company's board to be diverse and include women. She says that if you have a small group of people on a board for a fortune 500 company making all the decisions for the company that they should include more women. In Leigh Gallagher's mind a small board of elites making the decisions for companies is a good thin g as long as you have women and other people on it. in reality this woman should be thinking why is there a need for a board anyway if not just to keep those of higher education in control of workers. The bias of Leigh Gallagher of the undemocratic nature of company boards shows her corporate media background for business publications. She spoke with Smart People podcast host Chris Stemp about how few women run these monopolistic fortune 500 company but that it is improving but the women she is talking about improving and aiding are certain highly educated women like herself. If Leigh Gallagher really cared about "women' she wouldn't be supporting the system and be calling for reforming the system where a small board of wealthy people appointed to a board by the CEO make the decisions affecting thousands of workers including women workers. The Leigh Gallagher's though are concerned with the plight of powerful rich women though. Her defense and hope for end of the suburbs is her hope that these single professional women can thrive and rise further as companies listen to business journalists like herself promoting cities and investment away from the suburbs and where working women and mothers live. She has no stats backing up her indication that most people don't want to live in the suburbs and again she is likely referring to a poll of her constituents of single women who love watching reality television and reruns of "Sex In The City". She says that everyone wants to live in an area with activity yet she ignores the government spending that is needed for places like this and that this is a bankrupt society. She is like many women where they think every day needs to have some entertainment element and this explains the amout of waste and corporate spending you see that puts so many companies in the red for their over highly paid executives. Make no mistake that Leigh Gallagher is a corporatist and this is about spending other peoples money and relying on a lower class to work low wages in a service econoy serving the wishes and demands of women like Leigh Gallagher.
