Les Grobstein is an overnight radio host in Chicago who only talks about sports and can list you the starting line up of the Brooklyn Dodgers in 1951. Les Grobstein was infuriated the other night blaming referees bad calls for screwing Northwestern University in the second round of their Cinderella run in the NCAA tournament and many of the few people in the city and area in reality even cared. A Les Grobstein and other made huge of Northwestern run into the tournament but alas Chicago is not nor will it ever be a college sports town. I would be willing to bet most current Northwestern student and alumni didn't give a shit about northwestern first ever appearance and grobstein often spoke this year of the rivalry and hatred University of Illinois college basketball fans have for Northwestern which is absolutely absurd. there is no debate or talk on which is the best team or biggest college basketball program in the state of Illinois outside the few extreme sports talk nuts which a Les Grobstein is a master. Anyone who can remember the 1974 all star game and the outcome of the game is on the edge of sports maniacal. The state of college basketball in this corporate state is nill and Illinois is not North Carolina as few sports fans care about teams in the area that are not professional. Northwestern drew miserably this season along with the other area teams and for a Les Grobstein and his few sucker callers to think Northwestern's run was special for all people in the area is again evidence of what a sports nerd this clown is at all times. The average University of Illinois student is worried about passing exams and studying advanced mathematics for their engineering classes that to get worked up with who is considered the team of this state. I have been to Champaign-Urbana many times and often hear little of talk about college basketball and sports. Lester may think that bad referees costing northwestern is a travesty and outrageous but most folks care little of these match ups and March madness is a media sports industrial creation trying to give the illusion of sports incredible grip and importance on society with all this bracket talk and so forth and an excuse for all this money to be thrown to the networks and commercials.
