Steve Dahl and Garry Meier remember the TV producer that thought Dahl was all on coke

Mitch Welch
Chicago radio legends Steve Dahl and Garry Meier actually got one TV week long trial run late show host many many moons ago. There was a slot on a late night CBC talk show that had a revolving door of hosts every week in the late eighties and for some reason someone suggested Steve Dahl and Garry Meier to host this left coast left-wing TV talk show host. Dahl and Meier were recollecting the program and Dahl made mention how the producer or director kept asking Dahl if he was high on coke while performing oral bullshit all week as host.
Dahl has freely admitted to getting tanked on alcohol in public appearances and show in the past as it made him have  less anxiety and stress and for some reason the producer saw Dahl may have been on something else. Dahl and Meier needless to say flopped in their one week national television run and perhaps if Dahl wasn't all liquored up or possibly on nose candy his performance and that of Meier would of been more exemplary. Maybe their names would of been established household names like a Howard Stern and other radio broadcast kings of shocking jockstraps.
Dahl and Meier looked so out of place when they did that Los Angeles show for a national audience and I wondered what people outside of Chicago who were unfamiliar with these two turkeys thought of them.People in the windy citys lnew these clowns for a decade. Their performances were so bad for a national audience that likely Dahl and Meier were depressed and maybe were strung out on coke to lessen their depression and the fact they would rise no higher in entertainment than lame corporate Chicago bullshit artists on a microphone.
