The demise of the fat ballplayer and baseball

Guy Baldwin

All baseball players now days are clone like athletes who are very boring and all look alike. They may be diverse ethnically and racially in baseball but there obviously is a bias selection of the modern day ball player. They all look like clones and have absolutely no individuality. As a long life Philadelphia Phillie fan I enjoyed seeing some of the plump ball players that wore their uniform over the years. Corporate baseball wants a certain look of ballplayers these days and if you don't fit their meticulous requirements to done their ridiculous pajama pants and hit a ball with a stick then you will never get to be on the diamond. Baseball is so god dam boring these days and except for a few large markets I doubt it will have much of a future especially as Americas obese epidemic gets worse. Where are the Greg Luzinskis and John Kruk's in baseball. Does baseball have to be a real fit heavy steroid workout sport where cheaters prevail and get promotions from the minor leagues. wasn't the best ball player of all time one of robust statue and still idolized as the sultan of swat. I still say baseball jumped in popularity because it was one of a few things where a crowd could gather and the personalities of the early ball players made the game more entertaining than what it really is in sport. baseball is a boring game. If baseball keeps having these boring carbon copy players with personalities and looks of androids the sport will be passed up by soccer in a lifetime or two. hell maybe even cricket will bypass it in America.
