Nikita Koloff was a bad Russian and a monster

Dave Berkson
Nikita Koloff was a wrestler Vincent K McMahon wanted really badly for many reasons. He was aware of the growing popularity of this big bad Russian in the eighties and how taking him from the rival NWA would be a severe blow but Koloff refused to go to the WWF and take more money. Vince McMahon was spurned by him and several loyal wrestlers around this time period where the WWF was trying to destroy the last large wrestling organization with a national audience. Nikita Koloff was a jacked up bald Russian that looked like a monster and was hated most of his career. He came to the aid on a popular American wrestler one day and became an immediate fan favorite. I remember seeing Koloff in his evil Russian supremacy days as a kid and he was the only actual wrestler I feared seeng in action. Koloff looked like a complete lunatic who would jump into the stands and tear peoples heads off. I am glad that he came to the judicious decision not to join the monopolistic WWF and put dampers on Vince McMahon's ambition to steal and end his rivals story lines as the scumbag did so often using his pocketbooks to gobble up talent around the country. The mere fact that the WWE is ow the only real national wrestling organization on a large scale shows his wicked and successful Mcmahons corporate domination ambitions came to fruit. Too bad more brave wrestlers in the eighties and nineties couldn't have drawn the same conclusion on their industry.
