Social critic criticism...suburban banquet halls

One thing I noticed about driving through Chicago,Milwaukees, and a select few other Midwest city and its suburbs is the number of lame banquet halls that exist in mostly the suburbs. If there is any structure or business that is more uncool it is the banquet hall and they really dot the suburban landscape in Chicago and Milwaukee. A google map search confirms my notion that these mostly Greek and increasingly Indian owned businesses are and will always be mainly located in suburbia. You will never see a banquet hall in downtown anywhere as cities are smart enough to know restraints open to the public and ability to hold parties brings in more tax dollars and bang for real estate buck.
I was reading something in a local paper about a Mount Prospect banquet hall that closed suddenly when the owners just left the country and unfortunately it opened real soon with new owners. No other business symbolizes the lameness and fall of this nations suburbs more than the banquet hall for private parties and this really is a symbol of what is the matter with the suburbs. Sme can say there is more families and thus more excuse for big extra agent parties usually for weddings and a desperate attempt by some families to cling to wealth through this dying mainly religious institution. You see less marriages perhaps in cities with educated people with more money and not a need to combine resources. Whatever the reason for the preponderance of ugly brick and mortar boxey banquet halls most likely the reason is cheap land out in suburbia to old a big building and lack of regulation in the burbs to even make sure buildings are of code.
