Antonio Bustamante and their ridiculos Pedicab industry
Terry Blue
People who claim to be businessmen were angry a few weeks back when the Chicago city council decided to start cracking down on the insane amount of pedicabs in downtown Chicago. Pedicabs are obviously for fat suburbanites that never get behind a bike themselves and when coming down to the city find the streets to numerous and large to transverse. pedicabs are a shame and brings a time when rickshaw mobility was common in parts of Asia from desperate people servicing others with the money to have others move them. The Chicago city council decided to go after these operators that further clog up the streets giving tourists their sightseeing demands that don't require them to actually move. Pedicabs are basically a sign and part of the trouble with America. One alderman Tom Tunney’s measure was years in the making, and requires pedicab drivers to get $250 annual licenses for their cabs, to buy insurance, post fare schedules, apply for “chauffeur's licenses” to drive the pedicab and other changes. This has enraged these pedicab drivers who put the safety and welfare of all passengers behind them when they decide to pick someone up whose too lazy to walk and pt all of them on the dangerous streets with buses, taxis, and trucks. Antonio Bustamante o,owner of Kickback Pedicabs says these regulations will kill his business and this discriminates against pedicab operators even though taxis and other personal transportation industries have to go through the same process. Antonio says he will be forced to to sell his lame looking bikes and have to go into another business and I wish him luck. go sell skateboards on the street or something but get your god dam Pedicab out of the way. He says there are 300,000 tourists everyday in the Loop area where he will not be able to operate and this is where all the people walk up and down the street. More the reason to restrict access to sidewalks and streets to these heavy moving pieces of metal as there is enough moving mass in downtown Chicago and other cities where these fucks think they have a right to set up a bike taxi business. Other new sensible rules include proof of workers compensation insurance, and prohibition from driving under the influence of alcohol which I sense could be a major problem given the nature and look of Antonio and many of these pedicab drivers in areas with tons of bars.Antonio should know better you cannot just decide to buy a few bikes and operate a business that functions to the public streets and if he didn't then he is as dumb as he looks.
