HTC days are numbered

   The quickness a smartphone company can see its profits fall and suddenly struggle to maintain its position is seen with Taiwanese smartphone maker HTC. It was not too long ago that this company was riding high but now its leaders like Cher Wang are warning that quarterly earnings will continue to drop as smartphones saturate and people prefer higher end names like Samsung and Apple as an identity in the social smartphone scene.

 The sales of the HTC One have not been large enough to offset losses and the great slide of this once great phone company may be coming apparent to investors and buyers. Who wants a phone if the company will not be relevant anymore in the smartphone battles and having less revenue will cut marketing costs drastically. I would not be wanting to hold HTC stock and this phone maker may well be heading for the exit door like old blackberry models. This would be a shame because consumers need great competition  in electronic devices and the importance of choice in economics is an often crucial aspect we as economists often overlook. Can Cher Wang and the other founder of HTC turn sales around and keep producing more great phones that people are ignoring on the market will  they be  to second rate cheap devices on the market developed more for the emerging world markets as such firms as Huawei and Lenova that nobody actually chooses  and are stuck with due to prices? Cher Wang looks like a smart woman and maybe she can lead HTC out of this crisis and back as a dominate form in the smartphone market but one has to wonder if Ms Wang can get the job done. A lack of focus and several misguided adventures have helped make this phone company fall from grace and now in a position of really getting hammered. The dismay style of leadership provided by Peter Chou has turned off many foreign workers who have had enough of Tapie and the eccentric behaviors of their CEO and left the company. HTC and Peter Chou don't know it but HTC is toast and will become another phone company that was once something that become nothing. I hope this Cher Wang sacks this fucker who is helping monopolize the world of smartphones with his incompetency that has allowed tthis phone maker to fall so quickly
