Ye Olde Town Inn abruptly shuts down as olde owner takes the money and runs

  For months and years I have been appraising the fight of Tod Curtis owner of Ye Old Town Inn in Mount Prospect has he fought village attempts to takeover his great bar with rock concerts at times and replace it with a walgreens. Mr Curtis had a brave legal fight against the corrupt village which is typical of many suburbs insisting on village code laws to restrict small independent businesses for the same boring look that hundreds of dull suburbs have in the Chicagoland area.
The building that hosted this bar and other businesses is a charming old TWO story building that has been here a long time as greedy foreign developers have been hungry to develop into these prodigious six story buildings and finding a rich relative named Boris to move into from the old country. Well it appears Mr Curtis took the money and ran. The Ye Olde Town Inn closed abruptly the other day as ye old prick decided not to tell a soul in the place. Workers came to work the other day and saw a letter from Mr Curtis explaining his decision to end the business. This was a disgusting act to do so close to the holidays as he has many loyal workers with families to buy gifts for and so forth. You would think a guy who has been in business for all these years would of cared a little more. Basically all these people loyal to Mr Curtis now realize the fight was about his pocketbooks and getting the best deal possible for himself and not really about preserving the business for his workers and loyal customers has he had claimed all these yearsMr Curtis put up claiming a closure of the
