Baxter Lomax and Otto Jansen rip Namco's Pac Man themed restaurant. Bar

In our continuing debate among our writers Otto Jansen and Baxter Lomax sat down to discuss some new restaurant opening up in corporate chain exurb Schaumburg Illinois. Namco decided this fine corporate village would be prime location for a PAC Man themed restaurant.

Otto Jansen
The whole sense of a pac man reseaurant is ludicrous. Young kids will not plead with parents to take them and watch random strangers play on big screen. Ths concept is something like thirty years too late.

Baxter Lomax I think times are showing how difficult it is to come up with concepts for the,e restraints and this is a first. PAC man was a popular game at the time and cold be found in about every Perk s or Denny's restaurant at the time. However allocating the whole restaurant for this old video arcade game where many kids who played it are in their fifties and that many else are either dead or extr,Eli elderly. Why would kids today care about PAC man

Otto Jansen
A Pakman game would never be popular in this generation and video games have moved way beyond this. I wold say a doom themed restaurant or a call of duty wold of made. Ugh more sense. This dea is completely stupid
Baxter Lomax
Investors In restaurants are getting desperate and a concept like this will last a year maybe two. Sales to this eatery will be dismal as there are more interesting things to see and go out to eat than some boring video game of the really eighties

Otto Jansen
Clearly the guy who both proposed this idea and pushed in getting it made reality had to be on drugs. Why would anyone think there is a demand for a PAC man restaurant. This place is suppose to be real expensive. Like two bucks per arcade game and forty bucks to bowl per game for a party of four or something.WTF

Baxter Lomax.
This will fail miserable and hopefully prevent some jackass in coming up with a Zelda or Mario brothers themed eatery in the future. Old classic video games do not need to be made into a theme based bar or restaurant and only an idiot wold try to attempt this crazy idea.

Otto Jansen
Obviously men with two much time and money. This place will bleed money and need constant loans to stay afloat. Most of your bigtime game palaces and centers hardly make money and cost more to sustain surgiving on the generosity of ax breaks and suburban corrupt districts that want places to hold parties for little Johnny and Sally.

Baxter Lomax
I mean if ESPN game centers cannot break even despite ha I g that huge corporate name and money what the hell makes Namco think this will succeed. This is not 1983 and nobody cares about this game.

Otto Jansen
Nintendo,Sony, and Microsoft would never put on such a misadventure. There are just so many restraint towns that need a constant flow of eateries to open and close making sure there is something in place in these commercial districts instead of diversity and affordable housing options on busy suburban roads that threaten to  bring more people into their income exclusively neighborhoods. This is the real reason why something like this would be developed and fought about.

Baxter Lomax
The same corporate bastard mentality to drown small house bars and quickly replace the tranquil scenario to identical drug and donut stores is the same force at work. What it is is an excuse to bring more big box restaurants  that have the charm of an Somalian pirate. Schaumburg is an ugly ugly ugly corporate suburban village whose livability has peaked and will soon be a black and East Indian shithole like Ferguson.

Otto Jansen
This sorry ass strip mall town has totally collapsed and lives off the revenues of cook county while being a place that subsidizes corporations to bring g jobs that are minimum wage and dependent on tips. This restaurant will be kaput some time soon.Coming live to you from the Itasca Inn off Irving park road

Baxter Lomax
This could also be an excellent attempt to bring families and get children known to a future drinking market. No kids should ever be in an area where there is a bar except for weddings. PAC Man and a bar combination are attempts to get kids ready for a alcohol future. Of course kids don't give a shit for Pac Man or other eighties video games.
