Steve Dahl should of been kaput in 1991. He ruled Chicago radio because some corporate big wigs thought he had a following and kept him on the radio. Steve Dahl has come back as for some insane reason Cumulus media decided he should have another run on WLS radio. Maybe someone didn't read the memo and saw Dahls dismal ratings way back eight year ago when he was on WKCG but why this man is brought back is a story in the latest Chicago magazine by Bryan Smith. Dahl may be back but is really anyone listening is the question this writer wants to know. Listening to my ipod of tranquil Tibetan monks praying is more relaxing and entertaining that anything said by this fat clown whose opinions don't matte rand radio air filled with mundane details of his boring life as a sixty year old former alcoholic.
Steve Dahl's whole career lived off one silly act back in 1979 that canceled a second game of a boring baseball doubleheader and without this one must wonder if Dahl would of been in his basement all this time watching TV like any other suburban fat blowhard than trying hard to make a comeback with a bad podcast. This is a fat garrulous guy who desperately wants his voice to be heard by so many people and he has had the ability for so many years just to do this. Fortunely there are so many more options for people to kill their free time than listen to ..radio. C'mon who really listens to talk radio in the current format it is right now. it has already been written why corporate executives might want some old guy like Dahl still motering his mouth on their airwaves/ According to this article it appears that cumulus and other media executives want to get in on this subscription podcast thing bring Dahl back on the air for they remain there is a chance for more corporate broadcasting profits somehow now in podcasting. they definitely are scared of the free podcast alternative media rise that threatens their power politically and their money making abilities to churn out the politicians and policies they seek in society . As their own Chicago magazine story points out though having a fat meat head who young people don't give a rats ass about is not a very smart move and I am surprised they would make such a decision such as bringing Steve Dahl on their ship again. This ship will sink with someone of dDhls ability and girth are sure to bring down.
