Les Grobstein misses Chicago collegiate hockey and being paid to describe it

  Les Grobstein is some sports guy a modern day Les Nessman on the radio airwaves in Chicago. the guy has made a living managing what so few can do and wish and this is talking about sports I front of a microphone. The other night on his radio show he was once again reminiscing about his days getting money to call the University of Illinois-Chicago hockey which was the last division one program in the city of Chicago. Les Nessman ..I mean Les Grobstein called these games for fifteen years on the radio to perhaps an audience of listeners that maybe topped two hundred folks once or twice. This program bleed money as they had to pay clowns like Nessman a ton of shit to show up and mention a bunch of names describing a hockey game over the radio. Fortunately  a new president took over at the university of Illinois/Chicago and saw the sparse crowds and lack of interest of the student body as the majority of people attending were family members of these players. Hockey is a brutal sport that has no place on a college campus and guys like Les Grobstein miss it so much because they were part of the system and waste by universities devoted to sports expenditure and maintenance. Les went on to describe how the program at Ohio State University so improved after corporations used some of their profits to improve facilities and bring minimum wage part type jobs to the campus in Columbus. in a perfect world for Les Grobsteinthe Chicago area would also have a 18000 seat arena in Chicago devoted exclusively for...COLLEGE HOCKEY..really.  Grobstein is a radio host that tries his best to avoid political talk on subjects with sports because he is a lackey for the sports corporate industry and he is no Dave Zirin. he is the complete opposite of Zirin and supports the corporate sports message of endless spending and growing inequality and the sports industry has played its part in getting money diverted fro the middle class to the upper echelons of society. Thankfully there was one college administrator who fought against this pissing a man like Les Grobstein with the most arrogant human face I have ever seen in a few google picture I see of this dipshit  face.  A caller said that the university should quickly administer and fund a new team and league due to all the interest in youth leagues by these elite Chicagoans involved in the financial industry but this is not going to happen. The University of Chicago is in the ield of educating people and not subsidizing and opening up opportunities for rich families to have pride in another outlet for growing little Johnny to bash the head of an opponent into the boards sliding down the ice. This is sports arrogance gone wild on WSCR radio.
