Bill Mckibben was on the On Point broadcast with Tom Ashbrook talking about he glorious defeat of the KeyStone Pipeline. Mckibben said there will be future battles but this victory that was quick after the election of Mr Treudeau as prime minister in Canada was startling and has oil industry and their backers paranoid. Ashbrook had another guest for the oil industry that said eventually this oil is going to get on the market but Mr Mckibben felt confident enough in this victory that extraction of this really bad sticky oil will never occur. People from all over the word join up and became active in the war against fossil fuel burning and this tar sand oil in Canada was perhaps the worse of the worse to bur in the environment. There are so many wealthy titans of the dirty oil energy desperately seeking new revenue and lands to exploit to make a quick buck selling oil to China but unfortunately for them there are more and more millions awoken to the dangers that come with all this oil extraction. One of the main culprits in spreading this information about has been the tremendous work of Bill McKibben and his environmental group called 350.org This guy is such a thorn to the side of these energy polluters that if this was Brazil I am sure they would of tried to hire an assassin to take him out. As McKibben told Ashbrook this was a long battle that took part as a grassroots activist orientated war against the plans and ideas of creating a pipeline that could easily contaminate swarths lands and the idea of further burning the environment so a few jobs and mass profits could go to so few was too much incredulity for so many. The new path needs to be taken for a greener and more efficient energy plan instead of continuing the process that most scientists agree with a consensus is having a terrible consequence for the environment and causing global warming and climate change to accelerate and cause weather patterns to become more powerful. The Keystone Pipeling construction and extraction as Mr Mckibben pointed out the first major defeat for the powerful oil industry that is seeing more and more activism against their expansion and driven madness to pull up all available fossil fuels to burn in the environment so big trucks can ship food from halfway around the world. good thanks to Mr Ashboork for having a guest of Mr McKibben's statue.
