Jesse Ventura nails it on Syrian refugee crisis and statue of liberty legacy

Jesse Ventura made an appealing case of acceptance for Syrian refugees and basically said on his Off The Grid television internet thing that we might as well as get rid of the statue of Liberty. Jesse eloquently stated that turning the statue into scrap metal would be the appropriate thing to do if these nasty Republican lawmen get their way and prevent the settling of thousands of people displaced by war that we essentially are responsible in causing and spreading through incessant arms sales. As Jesse correctly pointed out that America has always been a beacon of escape for war-torn people whether it be from Europe or Latin America and that reneging now on this legacy would be another sign of America's prestige and standing in the world dropping. There is a reason people from around the world still want to come to the united States and not China. Cleary looking at these poor people many of whom are our allies the Kurds, an competent minded person can tell these people are not secret terrorists This country was founded on principles of helping the persecuted and disbanded to have a new land and home to restart their lives as productive citizens of a brand new country. The Syrian fiasco is in part of our meddling into internal affairs of the Middle East using tax dollars to fund weaponry that has displaced so many of these civilians from their cities and towns across Iraq and Syria. as log as the US continues proxy wars in this region it should pay the consequences and help some of those non-combatants to get out of the way until a settlement is reached.
