Russ Roberts is a libertarian backer and having MIT professor Dave Autor on to back his ideas of how great world trade is  something you will find typically on Ecotalk. You see professor Dave Autor and a Russ Roberts speak of the success and virtues of the upper-classes and their benefit to expand their profits and networks through the integration of cheap resources and labor in other lands. For the vast majority of the people in the West global trade has been a disaster with many people giving up looking for work to begin with. The objective is to move companies and jobs that are most financially beneficial to pay corporate executives and upper management a lifestyle so far ahead of the general populations that thus you create a new political nightmare reality of a modern day feudal society. When they speak of trade and exchange of goods between countries they mean trade being good to the select few middlemen who can profit from this trade and set up exclusivity of barter for their class and have tax exclusion benefits as well at cross-border tax evasions. After all their loyalty is not to the tax-base of nations but are economically dependent on continuing these exchanges no matter how much cost it is for the rest of society. Russ Roberts thinks trade is good in the order of lower costs for consumers in the est, who wouldn't reply on lower costs if shipment of jobs to lower wages didn't simultaneously result through this ridiculous set up. World trade does nothing but benefit the elites of each country who get to set value and access to loans to set up their barter system and produces a reliance of a population to monopolistic control that only the wealthy can profit and expand their assets to even more ridiculous levels
