Wasps stings are scarier enough and many summertime these fears are witnessed by folks who suddenly encounter these creatures but one must think about what a cockroach would feel if they knew that for every Emerald Cockroach wasp one cockroach had to be tortured. our very own writer Jacob Genovese gets freaked out as I explained the intricate life spans of this wasp. I tell him that the Emerald Wasp only wants to be parasitic and eat the insides of cockroaches before exiting the deceased body and erupting into the ecosystem and world. The emerald wasp carefully eats the inside of the unsuspecting roach for months as not to harm the cockroach until the final days and when the wasp wings develop and it is ready to go out into the world by itself. I get a few calls to exterminate this bug and often I get a little reflective after one of these jobs The jewel wasp has over millions of years not only developed a mind-control drug, but an astonishingly methodical brand of brain surgery to deliver it. This wasp is a roaches worse nightmare come true and why the cockroach has evolved to be scared of the daytime like most creatures fear the night. The larva eats their bellies and some wonder if the cockroach even might know something is wrong inside itself but then again it might even matter since they would also then know they are nothing but a cockroach. Next time you see a summer wasp flying around examine it really good to see if it is one of these special roach gutbusters and one of the planets most amazing critters.
