Ghaddar used the money to live lavishly in his homeland of Lebanon, building a luxurious house, buying a farm worth hundreds of thousands of dollars and owning a soccer club, the release stated. yes indeed Abbas lived the high life pocketing all of the profits and not sharing his revenue from suckers smoking with the rest of the country in much need of extra tax revenue. The reason these smoke shops are even allowed in poorly cheap and eye-sore store fronts in villages is for quick tax revenue and not for worthless Lebanese to come here and make all of the sales for themselves.
  An analysis of cash receipts and expenditures between 2001 and 2009 showed that Ghaddar's stores generated more than $102 million in gross revenues, at least $60 million of which were cash receipts, according to court documents. But Ghaddar deposited less than one percent of those receipts into corporate bank accounts and declared little, if any, on his corporate tax returns, the release said. Overall, he under-reported receipts by more than $74 million, according to the release. this son of a bitche funnleled much of this money into foreign bank accounts and who knows who he lent the money or funded from Hezbollah to Hamas to ISIS. This summer, Ghaddar’s wife, Asma Saad, took over Belicoso and filed paperwork with the Illinois secretary of state’s office to reflect that she’s now the firm’s president and sole owner. In September, she filed for a business license with Orland Park. so as the son of a bitch is doing time for this tax avoidance...his wife is trying to reopen the store in her name as if somehow the family business should be allowed and continue its exemption and allowance for Beliosco's store to allow customers to light up despite the village smoking ban.
She says the village hasn’t processed her application, and after learning of the plan to revoke the store’s license, she filed a federal lawsuit in October against the village.
At a village board meeting Monday, trustees upheld the license revocation despite an appeal before the vote by Ayad.
In her lawsuit, Saad questions whether the village’s inaction on her license application is “motivated, at least in part, by racial animus,” noting her Arab-American heritage. The village has denied that Saad is being singled out for unfair treatment because of her ethnicity.
Saad likely would be able to operate a shop that simply sells cigars and other tobacco products, but she won’t be able to let customers smoke there, according to the village.
It said the exemption for Belicoso, which is in a strip mall, can’t be transferred to Saad from her husband and she must relocate to a free-standing building to have any chance of getting a new break from Orland Park’s smoking ban.
