Money Dream
Martin Manziel
Its getting harder and harder for billionaire owners of sports franchises to use their power and wealth to get freebies form the public. Owner Dean Spanos discovered this as voters in San Diego overwhelming rejected a tax-hike proposal that would of given this turkey a new stadium for himself and the small percentage of San Diego residents able to use corporate earnings to pay for ticket plans and get a seat. This nightmare for Dean was a dream and a tremendous political victory against the sports industrial complex expecting and hoping to use their political and cultural popularity to fund new stadiums. voters are getting tired of these wealthy owners pushing the cost and funding of these stadiums to the general public which has absolutely now stake or ownership of the place. the idea that an owner like Den Spanos can profit handsomely from advertising all around something built on tax payer money is more reason for state take over and ownership of pro sports leagues and teams. Only a small base of the ublic actually goes to these games and much of them have mental problems being insane in membrane wishing to be part of something they really are not aside from spectators maki g the economic dreams of owners and grown men playing chuldrens games a reality. . The only justification for any stadium should be if the actual local residents and public own it as in the case with the Green bay Packers and not for one man or family to reap the financial benefits from construction of these stadiums. Mr Spanos likely will move his Chargers team out of the city and find an alternative place where he can use and abuse the tax system to his advantages in his goal of building a stadium to reap the economic gains of corporate tribute for his association with sport. Dean Spanos is rich and he feels entitled to maximize his profits using the average citizens pocketbook to fund this stadium where he can then male a hundred percent of money leasing it for concerts, rally X races, and Monster truck shows etc etc. Mr Spans is dejected by the rejection of voters in San Diego most I am willing have never been nor can afford a pricy ticket to a bad collision sport game. Dean had been hoping to see the value of his asset increase with this stadium deal from fifty million to well over a hundred million in this Ponzi scheme of NFL ownership which only the uber rich can afford to ever be in positon.
