A crazy California cougar made news when it snatched a dog from the owners bedroom as the family slept. The owner had made the silly mistake of leaving french Doors open in her sprawl house in the foot hills of Cougar country. Victoria Foughts said a big nasty cat Victoria Fought said a big cat snuck into her Pescadero home for a late night snack at about 3 a.m. Monday as she slept with her teenage daughter, Catalina, and their rescue dog, a 15-pound Portuguese Podengo named Lenora. Fought’s bedroom has French doors that were partially open to let in fresh air, but she was awakened when the dog started barking aggressively. She then saw the shadow of an animal enter the room and snatch the dog. The Cougar ran off and the dog yelped but Ms Fought was not about to have fought for the life of her beloved Podengo. if I were this woman i would immediately get another Podengo as this cougar is likely to strike back and remember t e place where it basically walked in and made such an easy meal. of course the family didn't actually see the Puma but a shadow and for all they know their dog may have been snapped up by the shadow cat people.
The incident appears to be isolated and there’s no ongoing search for the cat or the dog. The dog’s carcass has not been found, but bloodstains were found near the door — the lone signs of an intruder, Fought told CBS.
Zuno said he could not recall the last time a mountain lion attacked a person or a pet in San Mateo County, where residents can encounter a wide range of wild animals, including mountain lions, coyotes and poisonous snakes. There was no remains of 15-pound Portuguese Podengo named Lenora. and it is assumed the poor small dog is now resting in the belly of a Mountain Line and being digested as rescuers search for the animal and the crazy cougar that just walked in and snatched a meal
