Wojciehowski was the amazing detective in the 13th precinct under the command of Barney Miller and in episode 14 season five he explained the Center Bear which served in the Polish army during World War II. The other detectives didn't believe him and giggled when Wojo got emotional and talked about the pride the Polish people have for Wojtek the Bear that served in the front lines as both a soldier and a mascot. This may sound like past fake news or even modern false prophecy and revision of history but a big massive grizzly bear did indeed serve in the front lines of the second World War and alarmed German authorities . Every Polish child in grammar school learns the story and of the bravery of Wojtek the Bear who died in 1943 in a German zoo form malnutrition after being captured in battle wounded and was shipped back to Germany for the uniqueness of a prisoner capture such as this beast.
Wojciehowski became irritated when Yahmana wondered if the Bear was a serpent and made coffee but Wojo said for him to check the facts and that a Bear actually did serve on the front lines of the World War and pushed many Germans back in their charges into the trenches and it is rumored that Wojtok the Bear ate four German soldiers.
The famous Center Bear of World War II is  a story to be retold and retold and it was great to see detective Wojo to bring it up many many many moons ago in the great Barney Miller and for the gang at the Left Shark and Center Bear productions to discover it and reclassify the data into the program and book it.
