conversation attacking the state flag of Montana of which he calls racist and on par with the Confederate Battle Flag, West says the flag has a couple of shovels and this represents the digging of graves for Black and red people in the pioneer Westward expansion and the amount of hate displayed by the state flag and symbolism of miner atrocities against indigenous people is the main motivation for the display of these items on what is visibly Indian land and setting in the background of this flag.
