Professor Michael Munger defends price gouging in bizarre interview on Reason.com

Oscar Horton

Duke University professor and libertarian rock star Michael Munger is a professor of economics and often has interesting things to say n his various internet interviews bringing in neurotic and eccentric viewpoints pretty much in standard of libertarian views. Munger says the price mechanism is important for determining use of resources and the scarcity of product determines the price. Professor Munger defended price gouging because he says the importance of the product makes it so and a signal is needed to increase the manufacturing of the expensive product and apparently until this is done professor Munger's thinks only the rich should have the product until costs are lowered. In addition the reliance on cheap imports to be included into ending this price  gouging naturally results and this is something the Duke professor did not distinct or suggest in his Reason TV interview. Munger gave reason TV and its host a one hour comprehensive defense of price gouging which in this era is ridiclous to defend.

Munger says that shortages are indicatiosn something is too cheap and the scarcity of the product should correlate with higher price as this is part of the free market. Munger predicted that government will eventually ration products for the poor such as rice and beans and that there may be a UBI Andrew yang basic income and the poor will eat rice and beans while the entrepreneur connected class eat steak and shrimp daily. professor Munger also suggested to get more people vaccinated that the government can then pay people to get vaccinated and that everything must be done to help the health medical martial law industry
a system working with government to initially set all of these regulations and shut downs so the health industrialists and executives vcan get a larger share of our economy at the expense and shut down of other sements in our economy in a massive conspiracy axis of evil hitting the shores in America. Munger says that universities shoudl be gate keeprs and th eold model where students had to meet at  acertian time in a classroom setting are kaput and that a Rubicon has been crossed and that obeserving classes on zoom in your pagamas while having the Jerry Springer show in the background is the ne normal and should of been for academia. Muneger admitted that no one cares or reads the research of

professor slike himself and admits there is no value in his papers or work in others with research ad the whole higher education industry has already schanged dramatically and continue to do so with many institutions dying off from lack of funding or necessity in society. Munger says these non-prestigious directional university systems are in deep trouble and that these state universities should be zoomed to more well known professors and a consolidation fo a few top professors should be aprt of these universities to function better and save costs for the tax paer.
