The great David Berkson - Dr Nassar feud is really a misunderstanding between two alpha males who highly represent their respective peoples. Dr Nassar used his Middle East politics classes to basically rally the students besides the cause of Palastians who had their land taken from the Zionist movement decades ago.
The current poverty that has reigned for generations for these people is a direct result of this first neocolonialist move on part of the West to take a historical important area for all there of the major religions. Make no mistake the main purpose of this land grab was to make inroads and build a power in the Middle East that the Western allies could use to their benefit. This was Dr Nassar's basic message and being allowed to teach at a university he had as much right to determine the curriculum of his classes. My roommate Berkson called it brainwashing the student body but pretty much everything he said was not based on nonfactual evidence. Israel's illegal land grab of Palastin was beneficial to the banks and Western economic powers and that made the Palestine's landless serfs whose labor for many years was at the will of Jewish folks. It was no different than the economic exploitation the French used to help more Eurotrash to North Africa and run over another poverty stricken peoples. You can't fault the misunderstanding of the supposedly smart patriotic Berkson who was still furious at Nassar's teaching methods. Having a professor call out America on its own soil is pretty tough to take and especially when the facts of our support for a religiously fascist state that terrorize its neighbors with our hardware. A confrontation was apparently unavoidable during a simulated UN assembly when he was suppose to be discussing Mali.
