The Menominee tribe of Wisconsin tried very hard to get a casino in Wisconsin. There are casinos all over the state but apparently the folks at corporate Hard Rock Casino and the bought Menominee tribe thought there could be one more avenue for casino operators to swindle people out of their earnings and deepen pockets of the owners who government allows crosses and authorizes to run one. Scott Walker said that the risk to taxpayers would be too great and this decided that the Menominees were not worthy to bring about a new casino.
Walker also didn't want to threaten any of the casinos already operating including the one by neighboring Potawatomi Indians. Republican lawmakers who disagreed with this decision said there are other avenues in bringing about this new gambling den. Governor Walker said the risk of having to reimburse the Potawatomi would be too great regardless of the ten thousand jobs lawmakers say this casino will bring in the greater Kenosha/Racine area for once I agree with Walker. The amount of cost this project would of entitled would of been in the area of eight hundred million dollars. Kenosha needs real jobs not jobs that would exist out of the pockets of gamblers who in this blue-collar town would of been the ones to be hurt the most by loss. The mayor of Kenosha and corporate executives just don't get this fact and another facility that is set up by elites to drain the meager Accounts of those who could ill afford it the most is not a way of improving your community.
