Abe Vigoda is finally dead having died the other day after years of being publically humiliated by punsters thinking he was dead. Vigoda played fish and always had a lugubrious expression on his face and his character on Barney Miller is what this actor sis most famous. Vigoda made his first television appearance in 1949 but didn't make it big until the Godfather movie which lead to arole as detective Fish on barney Miller. This was a character I personally thought was not great and was great and when he finally left the program enjoying the barney Miller episodes without this Fish much more than the ones with the cantankerous character always complaining and bitching about something.
I mean how many times can one watch these old barney Miller episodes and have this guy complain about his feet, the coffee, his hemorrhoids, and his old bag of a wife. two years after his debut on Barney Miller Abe Vigoda got his spin off program on this character which nobody watched and Abe Vigoda had to be humiliated and return to barney Miller as if nothing had happened. there is no doubt that Abe Vogoda likely used a lot of Viagra in his life. Vigoda would disappear after Barney Miller and people would assume he was just dead and this is what Abe Vigoda became remembered for a new generation of viewers in television and. some are not even sure if yesterdays news that Abe Vigoda is even true and many people are convinced he died in the nineties and it was in the news as news stories have to recycle sometimes just to get filler.
