I happened to catch a season three episode something episode of the great Barney Miller show and low and behold Fish was having some breathing difficulties with dirt and dust pollution form Jew York City getting into his lungs and he collapsed while on duty. The Fish character always -payed by Abe Vigoda was character who was very old and always talking about retirement.
Fish on the Barney Miller program avoided retirement as long he could and thankfully he would leave the great seventies sitcom and go and start his own thing which bombed and his own Fish Show didn 't last a year.
Fish was a old annoying perhaps worse character on Barney Miller and Abraham Vigoda brought the program down as the idea of a police detective his old and slow likely had some truth and explained the ineffectiveness of crime fighting and the police in seventies era New York which crimes rates were in inexplicably and incredibly even higher than today.
Fish predicted a eventual concocted medial crisis that would be used as he read alot of books and read how Cuba and Eastern Europe used medical fascism and decrees to further restrict their peoppe and Fish said the power hungry bad doctors of the crumbling and decaying hospital system was desperate to get more money into their field and would do so and find ways to bring more profits which they did through forced
govenrment spending on testing and vaccines. Fish though thought they would be charging for air and fees for any medication prescription wise or over the counter and he warned of the coming medical tyranny which we are still under and it would be worse if patriots had not resisted so vehemently.
