Chicago restaurant ordered Dave Bonomi has said he's been forced to eliminate jobs at three restaurants after Chicago ordinances fazed in the sub minimum wage for tip workers last year. For much too long restaurant owners have been able to rely on the subsidies of their customers and paying the salaries of their workers and this owner who owns Peanut Park Trattoria on Taylor Street and Coal Fire among other restaurants now is mad and blaming living wages for why he his restaurant is struggling and he has had a cuts down on staff laying off workers which this pyscho Bonomi wants to keep their wagers low.
Now this silly jackass and other restaurant owners and the members of the Illinois Restaurant Association are trying to repeal this law that took him to affect in 2023. The one Fair wage ordinance was approved by the city council and it demands that workers make 16.20 an hour and not be reliant on cheap customers who may not tip much and would not provide them with steady incomes that they could expect from week to week. Now some Chicago alderman want to repeal this law as the strong restaurant lobby many of them.
The owners are multi-millionaires do not like the idea of paying their workers a living wage for basically serving food restaurants are a scam that only help the wealthy and the inflation free off and Bonomi was able to afford to purchase his way to ownership of these business ventures that offer workers very unreliable incomes. Mayor Brandon Johnson has said that there is no plans to change the
law and that there are 60,000 workers in Chicago who will see their base income increase and not be reliant on the unsteady income of tips and once again mayor Brandon Johnson also point out the vast majority of these workers are black and brown. The changes have hit these restaurant owners hard and that is not a bad thing as these restaurant owners have had it very easy basically exploiting workers and
their customers with their weird pay scale agenda where the owners did not even pay the vast majority of income of the workers in the restaurants. What other industry enjoys such a convenient owner labor deal and could this explains why on the landscape of this cluster fuck nation as James Howard Kuntsler would say there are so many God dam fucking restaurants everywhere offering nothing for the vast majority of people with their low wages and over-priced messy meals. Naturally, since being
implemented many restaurant owners are saying that they've been forced to either cut staff or stop hiring and if that is the case then if many of these businesses close it is no big deal. These restaurants do not exist anf get their tax breaks just to serve free and easy food for the rich and elite. This is not what our economy is about and if restaurant owners and scum like Dave Bonami of Peanut Park trattoria in the Little Italy area Chicago can't seem to understand it if you run a business venture you are have the responsibility to provide reliable and good wages for your workers and not pass it to the consumer eating your already overpriced food.
